The New York Jets have won a game – and may have lost Trevor Lawrence

The New York Jets have finally won a soccer game. It could turn out to be their biggest loss of the season.

The Jets defeated the Los Angeles Rams 23-20 on Sunday in an extremely unlikely trick, avoiding the shame of ending the season winless. But the consequences of that victory are potentially devastating. They now follow the Jacksonville Jaguars in the race for the NFL’s # 1 pick.

The Jets just happened to be absolutely terrible in a season where there was actually tremendous incentive to be the worst team in the NFL. The team with the worst record always gets the best choice, and this year that choice is especially tempting. Considered one of the best prospects in years, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is capable of turning over any club dying enough to be able to pick him. Even the Jets.

The one thing the Jets proved exceptional at was losing enough to win Lawrence. In most of their games, they were completely blown apart. In the rare game, they defied odds by merely being competitive, they managed to blow leads in a phenomenal way.
