A new PC version of Nier: Automata, portion of the Become like God’s edition, has just been released in the Microsoft Store and Game Pass. And early reports are that, unlike the version available on Steam, this one actually to work

The game’s original PC release on Steam in 2017 was a notoriously bad port, so much so that fans had to step in and work on ‘mods’ that fixed things that should have worked at release, from frame rates to resolution issues.

As infamous as the Haven, however, was publisher Square Enix’s apparent reluctance to do anything to fix the game that left it languishing on the market, warts and all, despite Vending machines critical and commercial success.

That has changed with the PCs this week Become like God’s edition– first released on Xbox in 2018 – and early users report that it is fine, and thus probably a direct port of it enhanced Xbox edition, and not … any collection of rat hair and broken glass that the original PC version is made of.

This PC version of Become like gods is available on Game Pass, but also directly in the Microsoft Store if you read this in the future and it has been removed from subscription service.

Note: While this appears to be a superior version over the original, there are still things there (like a fps limit) that can fix or improve the FAR mod so if you still want to check that out (or look or it works at all with this version, maybe not!), you can find it here
