Microsoft has unveiled the next batch of games arriving on Xbox Game Pass for PC this month, and I think you Yakuza fans will be quite pleased. The Yakuza Remastered collection (featuring Yakuzas 3, 4 and 5) will hit the subscription service on January 28, along with Bloober Team’s brand new horror The Medium. Plus, Donut County and RPS favorite Desperados 3 are also on the way. Delicious stuff.
Sega announced back in December that a truckload of Yakuza games would be coming to PC this month, but it’s still nice to have the reminder. I have been told that they are very good games indeed. Ed, in particular, is a huge fan of the Yakuza 5 storyline, in which you play as an adorable high school J-Pop idol.
The next big’un is The Medium, a new supernatural horror game from the developers of Observer, Bloober. Taking place in an abandoned hotel in Poland, it looks like a good ghost party. The developers previously said it was their “most ambitious game ever,” and it’s certainly one I’m looking forward to – especially considering how good Observer was.
In case you missed it, on Sunday Microsoft also announced that Remedy’s Control is also coming to Game Pass this week. Brendy’s Control review says the game “feels good,” whatever that means.
Those are just some of the headliners that hit Game Pass this month, here’s the full list of arrivals at the end of January:
- January 21 – Control, Desperados 3 and Donut County
- January 26 – Cyber Shadow
- January 28 – The Medium, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, and Yakuza 5 Remastered
However, some good’uns will say goodbye to Game Pass on January 29. You only have 10 days to try this lot:

- Reigns: Game of Thrones
- Sea salt
I highly recommend hopping on Gris while you still have the chance. It’s a wonderful little platformer where you travel through a beautiful watercolor world on every screen. Alice Bee thought it was a bit empty in her Gris review, but it really is a joy to watch and it only takes up a few hours of your day.
You can still get an Xbox Game Pass subscription for just £ 1 / $ 1 for your first month if you wish, and the price can go up to £ 8 / $ 10 per month after that.
