The Mandalorian’s Gina Carano has spoken out about the backlash on social media over her conservative tweets

Gina Carano said she faced backlash from the Star Wars community over her conservative and anti-mask tweets amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The 38-year-old Mandalorian star, who has been criticized for beating Democrats in November for adhering to coronavirus security protocols, spoke to YouTuber Drunk 3PO late last month about her controversial social media presence.

“People need to be able to have conversations,” she told the host. ‘With difficult conversations, with different opinions. What’s wrong with having a different opinion? ‘

Gina did not address how the CDC has asked the American people to wear masks to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Last Wednesday, 381,000 people were killed in the US from COVID-19.

She continued, “Why does everyone have to demoralize right away, because maybe they just didn’t think like you?”

The actress also noted that she is not put off by critics and remains vocal to avoid checking Twitter and other social media platforms.

“My whole perspective on this is, I’ve seen people bullied on both sides of Twitter,” explained the former MMA fighter. ‘I don’t like bullying, and if I don’t stay there, which I don’t even want to stay that often, I want to make art, art is my passion, but if I don’t stay there other people win. ‘

She continued: “Other people win in bullying people from platforms and there needs to be a more balanced platform.”

The Texas-born artist has insisted she not be silenced, pointing out that “ a lot of people don’t bother ” her presence on Twitter and that she chooses to focus on her fans.
