The Kid Laroi outperforms Kendrick Lamar in monthly listeners, creating demand for the follow-up to “DAMN”. If there is one person who is disappointed in 2020, it is Kendrick Lamar. Rumors of a new album were pretty much killed after the pandemic hit, as were the protests, forcing him and the TDE camp to wait for a better time. And while many of us believe this is a better time than any, we’re still waiting for the announcement that Kendrick’s sequel to DAMN. is on the way. Or, at the very least, a single to hold us in for now. While he is preparing his next project, a new generation of rappers has sprung up. Roddy Ricch is the last from Compton to carry the torch, but in Australia, The Kid LAROI, whose association with Juice WRLD has catapulted his career, is one of the hottest new names to emerge. How hot could you ask? Apparently, his monthly listeners are higher than Kendrick Lamar, who apparently sent Twitter into madness. A side-by-side comparison shared by XXL revealed that LAROI has 25,569,361 monthly listeners, while Kendrick Lamar currently owns 24,470,054. It should be noted that Kendrick Lamar hasn’t dropped a project in about four years. Moreover, he has not released a single recently. The Kid LAROI, on the other hand, released his project F * CK LOVE in 2020, winning the teenage demography.
