The coach and former player Gennaro Gatusso confessed that he suffers from an incurable and complicated illness, as it turned out a few hours ago. The Italian who also selected, and who came to play both rugby and football, gave a message to young people in relation to what he has experienced.
And it is that he has been suffering from myasthenia for 10 years, a strange and incurable disease in which the patient loses control of part of his muscles, with different intensities.
In the specific case of the now Naples coach, Gattuso only suffers from the eyes, so there are times when he has spent months without seeing properly.
“I have myasthenia, I have had it for ten years, it is the third time that I have had it. This time it was strong, ” he said.
“I want to say something to guys who don’t look pretty in the mirror. Life is beautiful and you have to face it without hiding. I know my players had a hard time seeing me like this. I read that he was dead, that I have a month to live … Don’t worry, I’m not going to die. I’m alive, ”said the DT.
In its worst moments “everything will pass, the eye will be fixed. I see double, it’s hard to stand, just a fool when I can reach it ”. “I don’t like moments like this, but I accept it because there are worse things in life. I do what I like, this is my life and when I have to decide how to leave, I want it to be where I spent my entire existence: in the field, ”he said.
