A new virtual store for electronic commerce in MLC has opened in the city of Caimito, in Artemisa, under the name Mercocaribe.
The ENZONA platform describes it as “a new service for the population” that will be added to the 5,356 services it offers.
The store presents a wide variety of products that can be purchased in the combo variant, and the offer differs significantly from what it offers it is being criticized by TuEnvio, from the variety to the prices.
Ciego Montero soft drinks, vegetables, beans, yogurt, meat and ice cream have hit the networks with prices above $ 100.00 USD, causing outrage from Cubans who do not understand how to keep opening these types of services in this currency when most of its citizens don’t have it and are at a disadvantage.
A user identified on Twitter with the @YandyPDCuba account was one of those who showed his outrage by comparing the work he did daily to get “syrup for his kids’ snack”, while in this shop the yogurt and the production soda appeared nationally, which is no longer on the market for a long time, but in USD.
Another user expressed surprise, claiming that “he didn’t know these products and that currency existed in Caimito,” referring to the seemingly crazy thing that this store was located in that area.
‘And those prices? Where’s the phone to report outrageous and insulting prices, it’s food and drink gentlemen, no electrical appliances! Another user said outraged at the high cost of Mercocaribe’s offers.
Another user identified as Yansell Peral ironed that the only thing missing was to list the warehouses in USD.
All of this contradicts what Cuban economy minister Alejandro Gil said when he assured it these stores in MLC would not sell out at all before the other stores in CUC / CUP.
In fact, the stores in CUC are left to stock some basic necessities, such as oil, chicken and laundry detergent.
“The sale in MLC has delivered very positive results from an economic point of view, there are times when we have a lot of goods and there are times when we were a little out of stock, but overall we kept a significant amount of stock despite the pandemic. this entire period and that has been reflected in the sale. From this currency you can buy the other products that are sold in CUC, ”said Kenier Aguiar Ramos, director of the Espirituan division of Tiendas Caribe in an interview with the newspaper. Escambray.
Despite these statements, several stores in MLC and their colleagues in CUC and CUP have reported deficiency conditions repeated throughout the country.
