The ‘Fortnite’ performance mode brings 60fps gameplay to more PCs

You can play with its modest minimum system requirements Fortnite on almost every computer made in the past decade, but the experience may not be the best. Fortunately, Epic Games is introducing a new performance mode to help those stuck with less capable systems.

From December 15 (tomorrow) you will find Performance Mode in Fortnite’s settings menu. Spotted in a blog post by Polygon, Epic says it makes the battle-royale “ work better than ever before and maintain a smoother frame rate. ” It does this by lowering some visual quality settings, easing the workload of your computer’s CPU and GPU. When you play Fortnite on a system that barely complies with that of the game minimum system requirements, you will be prompted to try the feature the next time you jump in the title. You can turn off performance mode at any time afterwards.
