SteamedSteamedSteamed is dedicated to everything in and around Valve’s PC game service.

A free update of a masterpiece? That adds full voice actors, new quests, and a whole host of other bonus features? Gosh, I’m sure Steam users are hate Which.

I’m kidding because Disco Elysiumis new Final Cut version is arguably the surest possible lay-up in Steam history. Released in 2019, the original was a role-playing masterpiece that exceeded its own sources of inspiration, such as Planescape Torment, with a focus on smart, funny, tangibly satisfying writing and a timely reflection on a melting pot of political ideologies. Final Cut has opened the floodgates to new players – who I think hate reading? – while freshening things up for longtime fans. It seems to have paid off; Disco ElysiumThe Steam version has received nearly 1,000 new positive reviews since the update was removed. Sometimes it’s nice to see people just talking about why something good is actually good.
