Washington resident commissioner Jenniffer González assured the federal chamber in its meeting today could include negotiations to make way for an additional $ 1,400 check for economic stimulus to citizens.
In the statements in an interview with NotiUno, González referred to pressure from President Donald Trump to increase the current aid package, including a check for $ 600, to $ 2,000.
“Today the Federal House of Representatives is meeting to override the veto on the defense bill,” the commissioner said in reference to the law rejected by Trump last week.
“And it is estimated that negotiations can begin to request an additional check for $ 1,400,” he continued.
The commissioner assured that there is no final agreement, but Congress could move in that direction today.
“It is not out of the question that an additional check for $ 1,400 could be approved,” he said.
