“People like her make everyone around them better,” noted Russell before discussing their scene together. “What was great at the time was, I didn’t speak. I was just looking at Julia Louis-Dreyfus and became kind of a passenger. Because you just let Julia Louis-Dreyfus be her. I was like a spectator. [She’s] Hitting all the beats she needed and making it totally different from the page, she was great in every way. “

The beginning of the moral gray zone for John Walker

“It is the beginning of something,” said Nagelhout. “John is very excited because he is someone who must have a purpose. He must feel that he has a place in the world. He must feel that he has direction and ambition. That has a catharsis [meeting] for him.”

“Every time we talked about Valentina, even in the writer’s room, she was a more wry, funnier, but darker Nick Fury,” explained Moore. “Someone who knows her secrets, who isn’t afraid to operate in the moral gray area, but who might not be that inherently altruistic?”

“Having a character like Valentina on the show, and actually in the MCU, is really interesting because I think she’ll be making more waves sooner rather than later,” Moore teased.
