A new rumor about the release of The Elder Scrolls 6 on PC, Xbox Series X and possibly PS5 has been making the rounds for passing on a massive gameplay change, or at least a gameplay addition that could fundamentally change the series. It’s been nearly three years since Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6Usually a game is out three years after its reveal, or at least ready to release. This is not the case with The Elder Scrolls 6Not only is it not coming out anytime soon, but we don’t know about it. In three years, Bethesda has said absolutely nothing about the game, at least with consequences. What we’ve had is plenty of rumors filling this void of information.
The latter comes down the road from a leaker who, despite an inconsistent record, draws attention with every claim they make. The last thing they made will pass The Elder Scrolls 6, which they claim will introduce survival mechanisms into the series, presumably similar to the one in Fallout 76as it is the same studio. Of course, depending on how deep and essential these mechanics are, they can turn out to be a massive gameplay change.
The leaker also passes on the word of ‘a new creative system for implementing and creating new magic spells and abilities’ that are ‘different from’ Skyrim and previous games. “
Unfortunately, this is where the rumor ends. There’s no word on a release date or anything super juicy, but this could – at least in part – explain why the game is taking so long. Bethesda is not only working with a new engine, but as it introduces new mechanics and expands on already existing ones that will take time, especially as most of the studio is working on Starfield
That said, make sure to include everything here with a huge grain of salt. As mentioned, the leaker in question has a track record that includes both accurate leaks and rumors as well as inaccurate rumors and leaks.
At the time of publication, Bethesda has not yet commented on the above information, and probably not. So far, it has not commented on a single rumor related to it The Elder Scrolls 6, and it is hard to imagine that this will change now.
