The Elder Scrolls 6 does not come out quickly, according to an insider. When Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6 back at E3 2018 it didn’t announce a release date or even a release window. More than two years later, this has not changed. Bethesda hasn’t said anything about the game yet. It just keeps saying the game isn’t coming out anytime soon, and according to an insider, that’s because it really isn’t coming out anytime soon.
Speaking of Bethesda, industry insider Tyler McVicker recently claimed not only Fallout New Vegas 2 is under development, but he does not expect that The Elder Scrolls 6 at the earliest until 2026. For those bad at math, that’s five years away. Unfortunately, McVicker doesn’t provide additional details, but suggests Bethesda Game Studios is focusing on Starfield right now, which itself is still a year or two away.
If this timeframe is correct, it would mean the PS5 and Xbox Series X generations are nearly over by then The Elder Scrolls 6 releases, assuming this generation is comparable in length to the PS4 and Xbox One generation. If that sounds like a long wait, that’s because it is. However, it is nowhere near that long Fallout fans will supposedly have to wait Fallout 5, which McVicker suggests won’t be released until the 2030s.
Now it’s worth noting that it’s unclear where the scoop ends and speculation begins here. McVicker has proven to be a reliable source in the past, but as this is not clear, you should bring everything here with an extra grain of salt. I casually heard toss around in late 2024 to late 2025, but not only was this information unverifiable, but it was pre-pandemic.
At the time of publication, there is no official release date or release date for it The Elder Scrolls 6. In fact, platforms outside of the PC have not been officially announced either, and it sounds like we won’t be getting this glaring information anytime soon.
