Good news for that Division 2 Players: Ubisoft and Massive have plans for the game’s future, including a brand new mode later this year. Bad news: don’t expect anything new for now.

In a blog post entitled ‘The Road Ahead,The developers behind the online looter-shooter, Massive Entertainment, explained The Division 2 had a successful 2020 and explained the first plans of what the future would look like. The big news is that a new mode is coming. Massive describes it as “completely new to the franchise”. This seems to imply that it is not just like that survival mode of Division 1, something fans have wanted Division 2 for years.

This new mode will not be added to the game until ‘end of 2021’. And it sounds like that could easily slip away as game developers continue to grapple with the global pandemic. Covid-19 has already led to a recent one Resident Evil be a crossover event greatly reduced in size and scale.

Massive also announced that future seasons of The Division 2 this year will only be reruns of the past seasons. So “Season 5” just goes back to Season 1. For players who jumped into the game after some of these seasons have passed, this is a fun way to give them the chance to replay that content. But for people who ‘play since then Warlords of NYC or rather, it’s a disappointing piece of news. While there will be some new clothing events happening this year, that’s a thing.

Massive remains involved in the development The Division 2but the company also explained that Ubisoft Bucharest will help create content for the online shooter. Logical, because Massive is also working on one Avatar game and Star Wars game.

Last month, Ubisoft and Massive have confirmed that The Division 2 would continue to receive new updates and past content Season 4Before that news, fans had been wondering if the game would end as the Season 4 story will include storylines and character arcs that started in the first game. Even the name of season 4, “End of Watch, ”sounded very definitive

So yes, it seems The Division 2 will continue, but I doubt many players will stick around to replay old seasons in anticipation of something new.
