Is it just me, or is the coverage of the COVID vaccines more than a little different? Here’s NBC’s medical analyst Dr. Vin Gupta, contradicting himself, moving the goalposts again, or simply saying the vaccine is not yet to be trusted, but he is still getting a virtuous signal to us unwashed ordinary people.

Can you take the vaccine but still get infected? I do not get it. Whatever it is, they are bad messages that will confuse the people.
While the vaccine was just a dream, an aspiration, the media even downplayed the possibility that we would see it before the end of the hellish year 2020. NBC led the demoralization campaign. Because that’s why NBC exists. Well, that and the insistence of conspiracy theories in Russia.
See, the “miracle” has arrived, even to the Texas border. In all other times, Operation Warp Speed and its leader would be considered heroic.
Health workers on the front line are leaving. Hundreds of thousands of doses are in trucks driving to Lone Star State.
Dell Medical School is one of four statewide facilities to receive the first shipment of vaccines. Exactly 19 other facilities will be shipped on Tuesday. And by the end of the week, more than 220,000 of Pfizer’s doses should be in 110 hospitals in 34 counties in Texas.
The end of the week is tomorrow or Saturday. Many Texans will hit the needle in hopes of getting back to normal.
But not that fast! Not according to Vin Gupta, MD. According to him, we don’t know if the vaccine does anything other than prevent you from actually getting sick:
Just to you viewers out there, I know one of the officials we just saw vaccinated is planning to travel after the second dose. This is a source of confusion. This is one of the misconceptions out there. Just because you’re getting vaccinated with that second dose doesn’t mean you have to participate in things like traveling in the midst of a pandemic that got out of hand or that you will be freed from wearing masks.
Everything still applies until we’re all on the two-dose schedule, and we don’t think this will happen until June or July. And again, this goes back to what we just talked about, Chuck. We don’t know if just getting the vaccination will prevent serious illness, or will it also prevent you from getting an infection at all? This means that you may still be able to get infected with the virus and pass it on to others. So, really, really critical – don’t let your guard down just because you’ve been vaccinated. You may still be able to get infected with the virus and pass it on to others, so keep that in mind. “
So … what’s the point? Okay, it can keep you out of the hospital. How about resuming a life before COVID? That’s what we all really want. Illness is temporary. Loss of freedom is forever until now.

We know the virus is contagious, but we also know that it is not fatal for the vast majority of people. It’s bad. Terrible. Not good. But for most people who don’t have an average of 2.6 other co-morbidities, the new coronavirus is very unlikely to kill you.
Exception: When Your State or Province Decides Kinetic Lead Poisoning = COVID Death. Now that really needs to be stopped cold and those deaths removed from the COVID totals. We don’t know the actual COVID death toll because of counts like the one that have been going on since April or around it, eroding trust in the entire containment company. They say we are approaching nearly 300,000 COVID deaths, but are we? Really? When dead from gunfire and the like keep getting in the totals?
In fact, our alleged health experts have eroded confidence from a plateau to a Grand Canyon of suspicion for months, starting with ‘two weeks to flatten the curve’ stretching into this endless police state twilight and cutting through their riot approval while they ordered our churches and our businesses shut, soon expelling millions of Americans. Restaurants aren’t big COVID distributors? Close them anyway! Democrats think we all have Nancy Pelosi’s freezer full of gourmet ice cream at home, when the reality is that most Americans live from paycheck to paycheck. Every financial failure is a personal disaster for them.
The experts’ recommendations, which should have been, and claimed to have been, based on science, turned out to be at least rather political instead. Such as: Restaurants and other small businesses are closed, but Tom Cruise can make movies and yell at his impotent production staff if they are an inch too close together. Why is Tom Cruise going to work and not you? He’s rich, you’re not. He’s got California Democrats, and you don’t. So shut up, farmer.
One more exception: if you are in a New York nursing home under the supervision of Governor Cuomo. That guy’s got it for the old folks. Thousands died after he packed nursing homes full of COVID patients, and he suppressed an investigation into them, wrote a book praising his super genius, received an award for blathering at his one-man-show press conferences, and sprained his arm as he patted himself the back for his heinous deeds.

Back to the virus and the vaccine. We know that for the vast majority, on a sliding scale that declines with age, the virus is very unlikely to be fatal or even require hospitalization. Children don’t even seem to get it or don’t seem to spread it at all. But the teachers’ unions want the schools to be closed, and where they rule, with God the schools are closed. And you are a racist if you question them. Once again this goes straight to the Democrats and who they own, plus a media / Big Tech that is explicitly on the side of the Democrats in all things. Not for science. Thanks to all this, a generation is deprived of its youth.
If you get the virus, you will get sick and feel really awful, but the virus is not likely to kill you. The survival rate is still above 99% and the younger you are, the less likely it is to be fatal. There have been exceptions, but the exceptions are not the rule.
So what’s the point of all the misery and uncertainty the authorities have inflicted on us? What is the point of 2020 anyway?
Florida and California have taken very different paths to deal with COVID. Gov. Newsom belongs to the “draconian rules for you but not me” school, shutting down everything but Democratic-friendly Hollywood movie productions as he runs off to dinner with lobbyists at a restaurant you can’t afford without selling a kidney. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has kept his state wide open for months. Florida has an older population; California’s is bigger. Both are warm weather states. The media has pillory DeSantis, because of course they did.
The states’ COVID experiences are very similar, but because Florida is open, it has about half the California unemployment rate. In the long run, Florida will receive fewer deportations from the millions on their way to a weary nation. It will have an economy capable of sustaining its medical community and its government. California is cutting thousands of jobs as Calexit accelerates. Newsom can be recalled, which would be hilarious.
Yes, I know, those Californians who put their own economic disaster in the rearview mirror all come to Texas. We need a wall or a welcome cart.
As for the vaccine, Dr. Gupta that we should like to take it, but that will not allow you to resume normal life, you will get a lot from ordinary people in response. This is what confusing messages steeped in rank politics lead to.

Unlike the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris primaries, I am pro-vax here and always have been. But if our medical masters can’t articulate why we should go ahead and get stung, and how it benefits us, more people will decide not to.
We are certainly suffering from a pandemic of incoherent experts and garbage media reports. If they don’t downplay the possibility of getting a vaccine, they refuse to report on Middle East peace deals of historic nature, which provide cover for the monstrous national security obligations called Hunter Biden and Eric Swalwell (which amounts to messing with elections), and they just confuse life from a traumatized nation.
