The cold front is wreaking havoc on the Bay Islands

BAY ISLANDS, HONDURAS.-The cold front that entered Honduras last Thursday has wreaked havoc in Roatán, Bay Islands, island territory of the country.

The Honduras Fire Department it has evacuated dozens of families who reported a dangerous rise in the water level in their homes.

Collapsed gutters, damaged streets and dozens of flooded homes are some of the damage reported so far. There are also trees and power lines that have fallen over due to the high winds that hit that area.

Anxiety

Villagers say they have not fought such a severe flood for years. “Even at Eta and Iota, we’re not too concerned,” they agreed.

Until now, no shelters have been used, so all evacuees have been transferred to their relatives’ homes. The exact number of people affected by the rain is not yet known.
