The Carolina Municipality honors the memory of police officers who died after shooting

An ecumenical act took place in Carolina, where Mayor José Carlos Aponte Dalmau took part, honoring the memory of the officers who fell in their line last Monday.

“I want you to know that in this place we will permanently honor our three heroes. And we will honor all comrades who have fallen in the line of duty. This will be a place where we can remember them forever. Here we unite the municipal police and the state police. We all care for the well-being of our people. I walked these sidewalks and I walked with them on Isla Verde Avenue and they are doing well, ensuring our safety, ”said Carolina Mayor José Carlos Aponte Dalmau.

The mayor explained that a monument will be built in honor of agents Luis Marrero Díaz, Luis Salamán Conde and Eliezer Hernández Cartagena.

“There is no other solution for people to understand that drugs and narcotics enslave them. And they make these criminals rich, ” added the Carolina general manager.

All three officers died on Monday when they responded to a call to a car accident. When they arrived at the scene, the suspect shot two of the officers and then ran over another.

A fourth police officer was injured but is stable.
