The body of the ex-Mexican cartel boss found wrapped in plastic on a park bench

A former lieutenant in a powerful Mexican drug cartel who has broken away from the gang has turned up – wrapped in plastic on a park bench.

Mexico News Said Daily.

Police said the body was found in Jardin Hidalgo on Thursday with two signs attached to his body with knives, including one that read ‘the traitor El Cholo’ in Spanish, the newspaper said.

The corpse has not been officially identified, but comes after a video posted online shows the handcuffed narco being held in front of armed members of the Jalisco cartel – alleging he cooperated with the police.

“This material confirms the existence of an orchestrated strategy to destabilize the state by an organized crime group,” said Jalisco Attorney General Gerardo Octavio Solis Gomez. “Everything indicates that it is … Carlos Sanchez Martinez, nicknamed ‘El Cholo’.”

According to Mexican News Daily, Sanchez broke away from the Jalisco cartel and formed his own drug gang, the Nuevo Plaza cartel.

The two gangs have since waged war over control of the methamphetamine trade in Guadalajara and elsewhere in Central Mexico.
