Stardew ValleyThe 1.5 update was a delight for many when it came out for PC in December, and now finally for consoles. The developer of the game announced on Twitter that the update should be rolled out to Switch, Xbox and PlayStation within a few hours. At the time of writing, it is already available on the Nintendo Switch.
The most notable feature of the update is the local split screen co-op game, which seems absolutely perfect for consoles. Do I want to sit on the couch next to someone I love and build a farm together? Absolutely, yes, and now we can.
The update also includes a new menu with advanced options, new buildings, animals and enemies, and of course a series of bug fixes.

The full changelog is available at Stardew Valley‘s website, and you can look through it for yourself to see what changes turn you on – we love seats you can actually sit on, a menu tab that tells you if you spoke to someone that in-game day, and a whole new region with its own quest and characters.
When we first covered this update we called Stardew Valley our “forever game” as many of us keep coming back to play it when it gets updated. Despite the game’s popularity (over 10 million copies have been sold), it still feels like a very personal project – just like my farm in the game, although I have to admit that a bit less impressive.
