UPDATE: From the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page: On December 20, 2020 at approximately 11:15 PM, a shooting took place in Douglas County NV near Douglas Ave in Gardnerville, NV.
The incident is currently under investigation and no suspects are open. The suspect is currently being treated in hospital for injuries. Highway 395 / Gillman to Waterloo will remain closed. The sheriff’s office is asking the public to avoid the area. More information will be released as it becomes available.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will be the lead investigative agency, as a protocol for officer-involved shootings to have an outside agency investigate, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said. There are two suspects who were in a vehicle, a man and a woman, who were involved in the incident. Both are in custody, Furlong said. The condition of the injured officer is unknown at this time.
