The beautiful $ 15 million ‘Schitt’s Creek’ mansion is up for sale

“Let’s all go to bed and pray we don’t wake up.”

Those were the words of the one and only Moira Rose – played with exaggerated style by Catherine O’Hara – after she and her disgraced and displaced family found themselves in a dingy motel on the Pop TV sitcom “Schitt’s Creek.”

But before the Roses gave up on their luxury lives, they lived in a glorious mega-house in Ontario.

Now the actual mansion used in the series is for sale for a whopping $ 15 million – and it’s gorgeous.

Known as the La Belle Maison, the house has 12 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, covering a whopping 24,000 square feet. It hit the market on January 27, although it has been on and off the market for the past few years.

The house was built in 2012 in Toronto’s upscale St Andrew-Winfields neighborhood. The 0.55 hectare estate combines ancient craftsmanship with state-of-the-art 21st century luxury amenities.

The three-story house has marble stairs, beautiful balustrade balconies and carved limestone and frescoes inspired by the Sistine Chapel.

There are a number of rooms suitable for grand entertainment, including a large formal dining room, a double reception room and a large gourmet kitchen that opens onto a private patio. The lower level adds a modern flair suitable for banquet gatherings or private weddings.

Schitt’s Creek was broadcast from January 2015 to April 2020 and received critical acclaim for its writing, humor and acting. The last season of the series won all seven major comedy awards from the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards. The series set a new record for the most Emmy wins by a comedy series in one season, beating a record set by Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” in 2018.
