The Chicago Bears tackled the off-season quarterback position on purpose, but it hasn’t exactly worked out for them. They’ve been in discussions with teams trading or potentially trading quarterbacks, but nothing came out.
Most notable was Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who was aggressively chasing Chicago. They reportedly even offered three first round picks, a third round pick and two players for Wilson. But the Seahawks told them they were not trading Wilson at this point.
Instead, the Bears had to settle for signing veteran quarterback Andy Dalton for a one-year deal worth $ 10 million, which isn’t exactly what the home run fans were hoping for after the Wilson rumors.
Now, with the addition of Dalton, it feels like a guarantee that Chicago will look for a rookie quarterback to the fold.
One of the quarterbacks who has caught their eye – along with countless other teams – is Alabama’s Mac Jones, who drew an audience on college pro day. Those in attendance included Bears offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, passing game coordinator / quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, and area scout Sam Summerville.

Unfortunately, chances are Jones won’t be on the board when Chicago’s top pick hits number 20. That’s why the Bears are reportedly doing their homework on the Day 2 quarterbacks as there could be an abundance of needs. addressed.
But again, don’t underestimate GM Ryan Pace’s belief. If he sees his husband, he will do whatever it takes to land him. If that’s Jones, we can see him in a Bears uniform.
