A temporary tombstone bearing the actor’s name was placed on the site of the grave, with plans to install a bust of the iconic entertainer. It was not immediately clear why the project’s timeline was extended.
Tyler Cassity, the cemetery’s co-owner and president, told the AP that there are plans to reveal the bust this fall, coinciding with the third anniversary of Boogie Nights’ passing.
Reynolds’ grave was decorated with flowers, a wreath and a small toy car that resembled the Trans Am he drove in the Smokey and the Bandit movies.
It is located in the section of the establishment that is also the final resting place of actor Tyrone Power and late musical stars Johnny Ramone and Chris Cornell.
