There is a new one Apex Legends event, and it brings in five new rotating game modes for a limited time. The event, War Games, starts on April 13 and runs through April 27.
Each of the new modes in the War Games event will introduce specific modifiers to make things a bit different from the default Apex Legends fight against generous. The Second Chance mode allows players to respawn, Ultra Zones adds different Hot Zones to each match – instead of the usual one – and Killing Time makes the match go a little faster every time a player dies.
The War Games event will also feature a few cosmetic accessories for players. Players can compete in the rotating game modes to earn rewards, including an Epic Rampart skin and an Epic 30-30 skin, as well as five unlockable battle pass levels and daily XP challenges.
Apex LegendsWar Games event kicks off next week. Here’s the full schedule of modes, along with Respawn’s description of each mode:
Second chance (Tuesday, 4/13 – Thursday, 4/15): At the start of the event, this modifier will give each Legend one free respawn per match; Once a Legend is killed, a Respawn Token is consumed to rebuild from the player’s current location while retaining all of his weapons and equipment. After a short while, the player respawns high in the air to get back into the action.
Ultra zones (Thursday, 4/15 – Monday, 4/19): Prepare for multiple Hot Zones within a single map, plus more epic loot and gold items. Each Hot Zone is enveloped by a flash point – the huge, glowing bubbles that replenish HP and shields when you’re inside. Consumables are still normally available in the outside inventory in this mode.
Automatic banners (Monday, 4/19 – Wednesday, 4/21): By adding a fairly minor but spicy change to squadmates’ respawn, this modifier allows players to automatically fetch their Squadmates banner cards! Players don’t have to loot their coffins to retrieve their banner cards – they can just go straight to a respawn beacon. The loot pool has been changed to include more Mobile Respawn Beacons as well.
To kill time (Wednesday April 21 – Friday April 23): This event speeds up the match as Legends fall; during a lap, whenever a legend dies, the lap time is shortened. If a particular round is a carnage, the ring will close quickly, so players will have to keep an eye on the round timer to survive this modification.
Armor Rain (Friday, April 23 – Tuesday, April 27): When the War Games close, the Armor Regen recovers over time at a rate of 12 points per second in this latter mode. Each time players take damage, their armor begins to regenerate after an 8-second delay; this delay is doubled to 16 seconds when a player’s armor is cracked.
