Texas Rangers trade Elvis Andrus for Oakland Athletics for Khris Davis

The Oakland Athletics will acquire shortstop Elvis Andrus and another player in exchange for designated hitter Khris Davis and a pair of potential Texas Rangers, ESPN sources confirmed.

Andrus was the oldest player on the Rangers roster, where he spent 12 seasons and was the only player left from his back-to-back World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.

Andrus played only 29 games last season due to persistent back pain, hitting only .194 with three homeruns and seven RBI’s. He is owed $ 28.5 million for the next two seasons.

Davis has 218 home runs in eight seasons with the Brewers and Athletics.

The Athletic portal first reported on the exchange.
