Tesla, Western Digital, Enphase Energy and more

Here are the stocks that are making remarkable moves during afternoon trading.

Tesla – The automaker jumped 3% to a new all-time record. The move closes a record year for Tesla, in which the company reported five quarters of earnings dating back to 2019. The electric automaker was also added to the S&P 500. Shares are up more than 750% this year.

Enphase Energy – Shares rose slightly after S&P Dow Jones Indices said it will replace Australia-based energy technology company Tiffany in the S&P 500 benchmark starting January 7. Tiffany is acquired by LVMH. Enphase Energy’s share is up more than 560% this year due to increased interest in solar energy.

Western Digital – Stock was up more than 10% as investors pinned to the chipmaker towards the end of the year. Western Digital has gained more than 21% this month alone, reducing losses to around 13% in 2020.

Tribune Publishing Company – Shares of the Chicago Tribune and the owner of New York Daily News rose more than 9% after a securities filing revealed that Alden Global Capital made a non-binding offer to buy the company. Alden is already a major shareholder of Tribune, owning approximately 32% of the company’s outstanding shares. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report the news.

Celsius Holdings – Shares of the beverage company rose more than 13% after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that the stock would join the S&P SmallCap 600. The change will take effect January 7.
