I now know when it is likely that I will have a heart attack. It will be when, unsuspectingly, I walk up the sidewalk and happen to be honking a Tesla with the most terrifying sound I’ve heard in weeks: a bleating goat. Now, I’ve looked up videos from Others goats bleating, and they don’t scare me. In fact, they are quite cute. But the Tesla goat sounds like it’s screaming, and it’s very alarming.
The bleating is part of the company’s holiday software update that allows users to use a new “Boombox” mode to turn the sound of their horns into sounds like fart, chic, applause, tada, goat or “La Cucaracha”, among other things. But if Tesla owners don’t like any of these options, they can also upload up to five custom sounds via USB. In addition to changing the horn sound, Boombox essentially does what its name says: it turns the car into a boombox when parked and allows users to play songs on the car’s external speakers.
According to the software update release notes, which are explained in detail by the folks at TeslaratiBoombox can also be used in other cases.
“Turn your car into a boombox and entertain a crowd with your media player when parked. You can also adjust the sound of your car when you press the horn, drive the car or when your car is running with Summon, ”the comments said. Select an option from the drop-down menu or insert your own USB device and save up to five custom sounds.

You can check out some of the sounds in the video below Tesla owners online. The bleating cry is there.
However, not all Teslas will be able to use the feature now. CEO of Tesla Elon MuskUnsurprisingly, who likes features like this, said on Twitter that only cars with external pedestrian speakers installed will get the Boombox mode update. All Tesla cars manufactured after September 1, 2019 have these speakers installed to comply with the regulations of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which requires electric and hybrid cars to produce a sound at speeds of up to 30 km / h to protect pedestrians.
Tesla’s holiday update also included additional improvements to the car’s other fart feature: Emission test mode. This feature allows users to play a variety of fart sounds from different seats in the car and replace the turn signal sound with a fart. The company’s new update allows owners to use the emissions test mode outside the carallowing him to fart at any time through the car’s external speakers.
Unfortunately, with the introduction of new farting features to just some of your customers, the others seem to be craving the ability to fart. Case in point: The Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley Club asked Musk on Twitter if owners with older models without external speakers could have them installed to use Boombox.
“We absolutely need it. I want to fart people who walk by ”, the club tweeted to Musk, who said he would to check whether this was possible.
A friendly reminder that all people have this ability, but I get the impression that it must be much better in a car.
