Teen takes drunken fall down stairs while sheriffs destroy NYC’s illegal ‘bottle club’

A 17-year-old boy drunk fell down a flight of stairs when sheriff’s deputies raided an overcrowded illegal “bottle club” in Tribeca, authorities said.

“When questioned, he stated to deputy sheriffs that he consumed alcoholic beverages purchased at the party,” officials said of the child, who was “visibly intoxicated” and had to be taken to New York-Presbyterian Downtown Hospital.

It was a wild party, even before sheriffs rushed the venue, on Harrison Street at the corner of Hudson Street, around 11pm Friday – after witnessing some 40 people lining up trying to get in.

More than 123 people were upstairs, “who used alcohol, smoked marijuana and didn’t wear masks,” New York Sheriff Joseph Fucito said in a news report.

Deputies arrested the club’s alleged host, Kurt David, 30, from Roslyn, NY, and charged him with selling booze to anyone under 21 and violating emergency pandemic restrictions for large gatherings.

An accused bartender, two DJs and a party employee accused of selling 3.5 grams of marijuana on the spot were also arrested.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not released, escaped arrest, if not punishment – “Deputies stayed with the minor until his parents took custody of him,” Fucito said.
