Ted Cruz says “Avengers,” “Watchmen” turn “mad environmentalists” into bad guys

In an interview with Daily Wire presenter Michael Knowles, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) claimed that certain movies portray “rabid environmentalists” as the “bad guys.”

“Have you noticed in how many movies how often rabid environmentalists are the bad guys?” Cruz asked Knowles.

Be it Thanos or go to ‘Watchmen’. You know where the left’s opinion is, people are a disease. They believe in the Malthusian lineage that there are too many people in the world … and that everything would be better if we had fewer people, ”said Cruz.

The Malthusian theory that Cruz cited states that as the population increases, there will not be enough food or other resources to sustain the population.

Cruz said Thanos, the villain of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” who wants to destroy 50 percent of all life in the universe, is an example of rabid environmentalists who are the bad guys. Cruz got some backlash on Twitter for his suggestion.

“Watchmen” writer and producer Lila Byock responded to Cruz on Twitter, saying, “Literally what the hell are you talking about?”

I’m actually amazed how much Cruz knows about Avengers. And to go back to the original Watchmen book for Veidt’s plan to sacrifice millions of New Yorkers for the greater global plan, ”tweeted Mark Millar, a comic book writer and Netflix’s division president. “I feel like I’m hallucinating this interview on Lockdown Day 300 …”

Cruz has been at odds with the Democrats over environmental issues, the most recent clash being over President Biden’s proposal to halt work on the Keystone XL project.

“The message from the Biden admin to the American workers: If you are a worker in the energy sector, get a new job,” Cruz tweeted.
