A military source confirmed to Efe that the aggression came from the Israeli military-occupied Golan towards targets around Damascus and that the defense had brought down most of them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization based in the UK but a broad network of on-site staff, said in turn in a statement that the attack targeted the area of ​​Al Sayeda Zainab, to the south. from the Syrian capital.

It is, he said, “a bastion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Lebanese Hezbollah.”

This promotion takes place only two days later The United States will launch another bombing raid against Iranian-backed militias, in this case Iraqis, in a warning to Tehran in which, sources say, between one and 22 fighters were killed.

Israel often attacks targets of the Syrian army and allied Lebanese or Iranian militias in Syrian territory.

The previous attack also took place on February 15 near Damascus and caused the deaths of nine pro-Iranian militiamen, according to the Observatory.

But the deadliest attack so far this year took place in the eastern province of Deir al Zur last January, killing at least 57 people, including government soldiers and pro-Iranian militiamen.
