The research, , who surveyed more than 1,000 American adults from Feb. 11 to Feb. 14, found that Biden currently generally has a 50 percent positive rating for work approval, compared with 38 percent disapproving.
Biden’s approval rating remains relatively unchanged from Quinnipiac’s first poll on his presidency released earlier this month, which found that about 49 percent of Americans approved of his job performance, compared with 36 percent who had a negative view of the new administration.
Wednesday’s poll, which reported a margin of error of 3 percentage points, found that Democrats overwhelmingly support Biden’s performance, 91 percent to 2 percent, while Republicans disapprove of 82 percent to 11 percent.
Among the respondents who were registered voters, Biden’s approval is at 52 percent to 38 percent, which Quinnipiac noted is almost the reverse of previous President TrumpDonald Trump Biden: ‘I’m Tired Of Talking About Trump’ Hacker Claims Stolen Files From Law Firm Attached to Trump: WSJ Texas Governor Gets Criticism Over Handling Winter Storm Fallout MOREIt’s at the same point in 2017, when the Republican had a negative rating of 38 percent to 55 percent.
Quinnipiac University poll analyst Tim Malloy said in a press release about the poll’s findings that Biden’s approval numbers are “solid, but not particularly blinding.”
However, Malloy added that “there may be some comfort in knowing that his predecessor spent four years in office without getting close to 50 percent.”
When it comes to the coronavirus pandemic, 58 percent of those surveyed said they approved of Biden’s efforts to combat the virus, and 48 percent agreed with his approach to the U.S. economy, which has been months since corporations were forced to close and laid off workers during the pandemic.
Quinnipiac started the poll the same day that Biden announced that the US had received an additional 200 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine, adding that the country should have adequate doses of Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech to inoculate every American by the end of July.
The government is also in ongoing negotiations with Congress on the president’s proposed $ 1.9 trillion relief package. Democratic Leaders in Congress have indicated their willingness to pass the bill, called the US bailout, with or without Republican votes in the coming weeks.
However, Americans are mixed when it comes to the government’s plans to reopen schools during the pandemic, with 42 percent approving and 38 percent disapproving of Biden’s response.
Biden clarified Tuesday that its goal is to physically reopen the majority of K-8 schools five days a week at the end of his first 100 days in office.
