Student dead day after getting J&J vaccine

According to health officials, a University of Cincinnati student died a day after receiving the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

John Foley, 21, died unexpectedly on Sunday – a day after he received the one-time shot, Hamilton County coroner Lakshmi Kode Sammarco told Fox 19.

Foley’s cause of death is under investigation by the Ohio Department of Health and the coroner’s office.

Foley was found by his roommates on Sunday. There is no evidence that his death is linked to the Johnson & Johnson shot – which was interrupted in the US this week due to ties to blood clots.

Foley’s family released a statement calling him “this wonderful and sweet joy of our life.”

“While the facts remain unclear as to how he died, we are delighted with how he lived: caring for others, enlightened with God’s grace and generous to all,” the statement said.

“We know that the doctors involved are doing their best. We have to be patient, and we ask everyone else to be patient too. John was going to be a doctor, so this is what he would like. “

The news of Foley’s death comes when a Mississippi man was left paralyzed on one side and unable to speak after receiving the Johnson & Johnson shot.
