Stella Tennant committed suicide after feeling ‘unable to continue’

Former supermodel Stella Tennant committed suicide because she “felt unable to move on,” according to her relatives.

The family of the Scottish-born model revealed details of her death on December 22 – just days after her 50th birthday – after she was “humbled by the outpouring of condolences,” they told The Telegraph.

Stella had been ill for a while. So it’s a matter of our deepest grief and despair that she was unable to move on despite the love of her loved ones, ”her family told the British newspaper in a statement.

“She was a beautiful soul, adored by a close family and close friends, a sensitive and talented woman whose creativity, intelligence and humor touched so many,” said the family.

“In mourning Stella’s loss, her family reiterates a heartfelt request that they maintain respect for their privacy.”

From an aristocratic family, Tennant died just four months after his divorce from David Lasnet, her 21-year-old husband.

A source told The Telegraph that the family spoke out because they “feel it is important to raise awareness about mental health as it is far too often misunderstood.”
