Sports radio and TV personality Colin Cowherd never holds back when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his latest rant against the Steelers, Cowherd went straight to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his preparation and philosophy and how it relates to the problem the Steelers are in.
Cowherd went so far as to say that the Steelers sold their soul for Roethlisberger. He cited his lack of off-season preparation, poor exercise habits, the simplified offense that Pittsburgh runs, and his inability to work with top talent.
Harsh words and the first time I listened to it I was not a bit happy. But after unpacking everything Cowherd said, he may not be that far off. This team has always gone as far as Roethlisberger can take them, and it hasn’t been to the Super Bowl in the last 10 years. It may be time for Pittsburgh to sort of take the patch off and reboot this franchise.
