State Farm Stadium in Glendale becomes COVID-19 Vaccination Site on Monday 24/7: How to Apply

Beginning Monday, Jan. 11, State Farm Stadium in Glendale will open as a 24/7 COVID-19 vaccination site, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced on Friday.

Registration information will be available Monday morning at www.azhealth.gov/findvaccine, the governor’s office said in a press release.

Law enforcement and emergency responders can sign up for appointments starting Monday afternoon, followed by those in 1A and 1B on Tuesdays, which include teachers and K-12 school personnel, daycare workers, and people 75 and older.

Vaccinations are handled by appointment only.

For those without Internet access to access a computer, ADHS Director Dr. Cara Christ said at a Friday afternoon press conference that people can also contact the ADHS COVID-19 hotline, 1-844-542-8201 or Arizona 211 be forwarded on Monday afternoon to someone who can help you make an appointment.

When it is fully operational. Dr. Christ said she expects the vaccination site to treat 250 to 500 people per hour.

She also said State Farm Stadium would remain a COVID-19 testing site, while also treating COVID-19 vaccinations.

Gov. Doug Ducey was not at the ADHS press conference.

The vaccination site is possible as part of a $ 1 million grant from the Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation.

“Our new vaccine site in Glendale will rapidly expand the number of Arizonans being vaccinated,” Gov. Ducey said in a statement. “We need to get these vaccine doses out of the freezers and into the arms of Arizonans who want it, and our new site will speed up that process.

Statewide, more than 725 members of the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs are helping medical personnel, including opening this vaccination site.

Officials from the governor’s office state that as of Friday, 123,862 people had received the COVID-19 vaccine and 2,127 people had received both doses and been fully vaccinated.

The distribution of vaccines in Arizona will expand to “hundreds of providers” as more doses become available.

Most of the staff for the State Farm Stadium vaccination center will be Blue Cross Blue Shield volunteers of Arizona, with Cardinals officers providing technical support, tenting, and more.
