Stardew Valley 1.5 is available today on Switch, PS4 and Xbox One

With split screen co-op, a new island to explore and a lot more content, this is the ‘biggest update yet’

After its PC debut in December, Stardew Valley today rolled out the substantial 1.5 content update on consoles. If you are a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One player, today is the day. It’s huge.

Update 1.5 includes a ton of new stuff, such as Willy’s boat to fix and drive to Ginger Island, another tough dungeon to meet new enemies, a new NPC to befriend, Golden Walnuts to collect, the lay- out of the “beach farm”, a bunch of new items and machines such as the Geode Crusher, more fish to catch, extra furniture pieces, more character events, the ability to move your bed and ducks swimming.

Especially for console players, the local split-screen multiplayer is such an important feature. Tell the fam.

There are just too many additions to rattle them all off here (check the detail-filled patch notes when you’re done), so those are the highlights. That wasn’t too long a wait compared to the timing of the PC update, but I’m not going to lie: I’ve been antsy for split-screen co-op. My weekend plans have been made.
