Spotify is the latest technology company to move to a flexible work model after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The streaming company announced Friday that it is adapting a “Work from Anywhere” model that allows employees to choose whether they want to be in the office full time, at home full time, or a combination of both.

The company will also introduce more flexibility around locations, so employees can choose which country and city they work in. Spotify offers co-working space memberships for employees who choose to work remotely but still want a dedicated workspace.

“As part of our ongoing Dynamic Workplace effort, we are re-evaluating our office spaces around the world for greater sustainability, flexibility and well-being to ensure that all of our employees, regardless of ability or situation, can work comfortably and efficiently, the company said in a blog post. “The ultimate goal of our new design approach is to ensure that employees have a place where they can focus, collaborate and create, whether at a desk, in a conference room or in café areas.”

With the Covid-19 pandemic, more and more companies are starting to see remote work as a more permanent option. Salesforce announced this week that it will let employees choose whether to return to the office by saying “the 9-5 workday is over.” Twitter and Square let employees work from home “forever”, while Microsoft said employees will have more flexibility to work from home.
