If you were planning to tune in to today’s Pokémon Presents, this is your last chance to stay pristine.
Still here? OK…
Reddit leaker PracticalBrush12 has made a bit of a name for itself lately, notably half of Nintendo’s previous Direct presentation leaked ahead of time. They were also responsible for several Monster Hunter leaks and details about both Diablo 4 and the Diablo 2 RemasterTheir track record speaks for itself, and they are back at it with Pokémon.
While Pokémon Presents will likely include more media content than just games, PracticalBrush12 has detailed two undisclosed Nintendo Switch projects and what’s even more exciting is that they were later backed up by video and screenshot leaks.
In their last post, the user writes:
Hey guys, so the remakes are in weird chibi 3D, battles are just like SwSh. Brilliant D and Shining P, developed this year by ILCA, not GF. Why? Because they are working on a different game! It’s … Open world. In “feudal” sinnoh. Year 2022 brought forward for release.
If the user is to believe it, this could be the highly anticipated remakes of Diamond and pearl are titled “Brilliant Diamond” and “Shining Pearl” and while the date is not specified, they will most likely aim for 2021 if the second project is 2022. These remakes are reportedly led by ILCA, a support studio that has helped with games such as Dragon Quest XI and NieR: Automataalthough it doesn’t seem to have developed its own title before.
So what about Game Freak’s title? A completely open-world Pokémon adventure that replays in the Sinnoh region, only in the past. No further details will be shared after the 2022 release date, but don’t worry, it will be very exciting.
A few hours after this post was published, footage from Game Freak’s open-world Pokémon game made its way online. It looks like Pokémon are finally here “Breath of the Wild” moment. Video and screenshots show trainers roaming around in a completely open field with images far beyond those of 2019 Sword and shieldNot only that, but the battles seem to have been completely overhauled with battles happening in real time.
We see a trainer throw a Poké Ball, almost as if you were firing an arrow in Breath of the Wild. You can ride the monsters, fly in real time, climb, sneak through tall grass. It almost looks too good to be real, like it’s a modification to Breath of the Wild … but still matches perfect with what PracticalBrush12 describes.
We only have to wait a few hours to see it officially, but it looks like this Pokémon Presents is one you don’t want to miss.
