Juarez City The Liras Park in the Paseos del Alba subdivision has a drawing with Mickey Mouse’s face in its interior, but the neighbors think that having this image is not an exceptional thing as there are more children’s games, lighting and most importantly in this place there is no police supervision, as it is common for visitors to be robbed there.
Located at the intersection of Paseos de Alba and Liras streets, this park has only a few trees planted by residents of the area, it has a sidewalk used for walking and piles of debris used for bicycle stunts, in addition to the emblematic image of the Disney character, where parents take the youngest children of the house to play.
An image of this park was recently published on the social network Facebook, in which Mickey Mouse’s face stands out and invites the community to visit it, saying that while it is not Disneyland, it is an option for the followers of this mouse.
Liras Park is better known as the Park of the Mountains, because of the mounds of earth that cover much of it and are used by the boys to do bicycle stunts, says Imelda, a resident of this neighborhood in the south of the city.
“We all know there is Mickey Mouse’s face, and in that space are always the youngest children, but the park needs trees and playgrounds,” said Cecilia, who lives opposite this place.
“We haven’t seen any city officials cleaning or doing anything in the park for a long time, the few trees it has were planted here by the same people and the residents of the park are in charge of watering,” said Imelda.
Both women agree that the park is used by the colony’s residents, especially in the mornings and afternoons, when they go for a walk or run around, and to use the few children’s games it has.
“People do use it, but they need trees and other kinds of plants because they only have a few, in addition to needing lighting and police surveillance, because people are often attacked when they go through that park. completely dark ”, says Imelda.
Other residents of the area, such as Javier, who walked through the park yesterday, feel that the participation of all the settlers is necessary to give this site a different picture, especially by planting trees next to surveillance and providing the necessary lighting. police for the safety of visitors.
