Sources – Warriors rookie James Wiseman has a torn meniscus in the right knee, could miss the rest of the season

Golden State Warriors rookie center James Wiseman suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee and could miss the rest of the season, sources told ESPN.

Wiseman, the No. 2 overall choice in the 2020 NBA draft, was subjected to footage on Sunday for an injury sustained on Saturday night. Further consultation with doctors is expected to result in an action plan for the injury and a timeline for return, sources told ESPN.

Wiseman, 20, was injured in the second quarter of Saturday’s win over Houston when he rose for a dunk and landed awkwardly after Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. blocked him.

Wiseman has scored an average of 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 21 minutes per game this season. He missed three weeks in February with a wrist injury.
