Sophie Xeon, known professionally as SOPHIE, was a producer, musician, singer and DJ who died suddenly on January 30, 2021. She was 34 years old.
The death of the avant-garde, Grammy-nominated pop star was jointly announced by Scottish artist labels Transgressive and Future Classic.
Transgressive posted the following statement on its website, revealing that SOPHIE’s death was due to a “terrible accident.”
The statement read: “Tragically, our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to his spirituality, he had climbed to the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us. The family thanks everyone for their love and support and asks for privacy in this devastating time. “
SOPHIE was living in Athens, Greece, at the time of her death, The Guardian reported. Her management told the point of sale that SOPHIE died in a “sudden accident” Saturday at 4 am local time.
