Roger Craig Smith, the voice actor behind Sonic the Hedgehog for most of the past decade, announced he was leaving the role more than a week ago. Not much later, Sonic fans began to worry that Mike Pollock, the voice of Dr. Eggman, too, would eventually be recast. Fortunately, it has now been confirmed that this is not happening.
Pollock recently took to Twitter to let fans know that he was playing Dr. Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. ‘You haven’t got the last of me as Dr. Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog video games! Prepare your ears accordingly, ”Pollock said in his tweet. “If you guessed otherwise, surprise!”
You know what they say: the more the better!
You have the last of me as Dr. Eggman not yet heard of in Sonic the Hedgehog video games! Prepare your ears accordingly.
If you suspected otherwise, SURPRISE !!!!
If you’d like to excuse me now, I have to stock up on lozenges.

Pollock’s information was largely received with relief from fans who feared losing him and Smith in just over a week. In addition to Roger Craig Smith, Cindy Robinson, who plays Amy in the Sonic world, has revealed in recent days that she wouldn’t be starring in the upcoming Sonic Prime animated series on Netflix. Pollock told fans in a follow-up tweet not to take sides in the case, pleading that the situation with castings was a little more complicated than publicly believed.
Even though a lot has happened in recent days when it comes to the voice actors behind the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Pollock will at least stick around for the foreseeable future. And even if there are a few new voices behind these iconic characters, they are sure to catch on quickly.
