Someone who bought a Powerball ticket in New Jersey won the $ 33.2 million lottery jackpot Saturday night.
New Jersey Lottery officials have not yet disclosed which retailer sold the lucky ticket, which Powerball officials said has a cash option of $ 24,831,027.77.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 1, 2, 7, 52 and 61. The Powerball was drawn 4 with a Power Play of 3x.
The draw was the second consecutive Saturday that a won jackpot ticket to the bi-weekly national draw was sold in New Jersey. A $ 23.2 million ticket was purchased at a Clifton convenience store for the January 23 draw.
In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket sold in New Jersey for Saturday’s draw, four second prize tags corresponding to five numbers, but not the Powerball, were sold nationwide, officials said. Tickets purchased in Delaware and Mississippi and worth $ 2 million because purchased with the Power Play option for an additional $ 1. Tickets worth $ 1 million each were purchased in Arkansas and Pennsylvania.
Wednesday’s jackpot will reset to an estimated $ 20 million with a $ 15 million cash option.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $ 2 ticket has an approximately 1 in 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers and winning at least $ 1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 for the third prize of at least $ 50,000.
Powerball is played Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington DC, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
