Some health workers in the United States refuse to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, even though they have priority.
An LA Times report found that less than half of the 700 employees at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Tehama County, California Covid-19 vaccine when it was offered to them.
This wouldn’t be the only case in California. In Los Angeles County, it is estimated that between 20% and 40% of health workers have rejected vaccination, according to information from health authorities. In Riverside, it is believed that 50% chose not to get vaccinated.
Added to the California reports is information from Ohio, where a 60% of workers in aged care centers they refuse to receive the vaccine.

The numbers are surprising given that health workers were expected to accept the vaccine without any problems. According to the LA Times and other media, some pregnant woman they have preferred not to take the vaccine because they do not know if it is safe in their condition.
Other health professionals prefer not to be vaccinated because they have been at the forefront of the pandemic for months without contracting the virus, so they feel the information about COVID-19 is exaggerated.

“It is certainly disappointing,” said Sal Rosselli, union president. But it’s not surprising, given what the federal government has been up to for the past 10 months. … Trust the science. It’s about science, reality and what’s right. “
