Scott Disick’s split with Sofia Richie came after the young model gave him an ultimatum: he chose me or Kourtney Kardashian.
The 37-year-old reality star made the revelation on the first episode of Season 20 of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” in which he said Richie had laid down the law at a July 4th hangout in Malibu.
He eventually ended his relationship with singer Lionel Richie’s 22-year-old daughter, though he’s not back with Kardashian either.
He told Kim and sister Khloé on the show that he was trying to prioritize Richie, but she still felt neglected and thought he was prioritizing his ex-girlfriend, Kourtney, with whom he was the parents of three children.
Kourtney and Disick had an on-again-off-again relationship from 2006 to 2015, sharing three children, Mason, 11, Penelope, 8, and Reign, 6.
“Even when I did, I feel like she was just starting to like pushing Kourtney out and I said, ‘That’s the most important thing to me, my kids and that’s my family and the only family that I have, ” ‘he explained. “Including you.”
He added, “And she was like, ‘I don’t want to share you with Kourtney as a boyfriend,’ and then she literally said with an ultimatum, ‘You have to choose me or Kourtney.'”
Disick said he understood her feelings and wanted to work with her on a solution, but chose Kourtney because she is his “family unit.”
“I said, ‘How can you even want that for me?’ It just became an impossible relationship to continue, ”he told Khloé and Kim.
“I’m never going to give up my relationship with Kourtney and the co-parenting we have,” he explained in a confessional. “Nothing in a million years is going to be worth what we have and I honestly believe that if the right person even went along with Kourtney’s life or my life, we would have children and having this great relationship would only be be a plus for the outsider. “
Richie and Disick first broke up after three years of dating in May.
“Life gets really weird when you live with someone and then your world gets so small and you spend 24 hours a day with people,” Disick explained in a confessional during the episode. ‘I mean, you can watch the news and see people getting divorced left and right. And I definitely think it caused a problem between Sofia and me, and I think we saw some things in each other that weren’t on the same page I guess. “
Disick is now dating Amelia Hamlin and Richie was last linked with Matthew Morton.
Meanwhile, Kourtney is dating Travis Barker.
