British teen actor Archie Lyndhurst’s mother has revealed the cause of his sudden death and shared a beautiful, yet heartbreaking tribute to her late son.
The star, best known for his role on the CBBC comedy series “So Awkward,” passed away at the age of 19 on September 22, 2020 – just one month before his birthday. He is the only child of Lucy Lyndhurst and husband and “Only Fools and Horses” actor Nicolas Lyndhurst. On Friday, January 15, Lucy shared photos of the couple with Archie on Instagram, revealing that he died of a brain haemorrhage caused by a rare cancer.
“Four days before Christmas, Nick and I were on Harley Street with the results of Archie’s second post mortem,” she wrote. “A very detailed document, which we had been warned about by the coroner, would be poignant and best explained by a physician. The doctor explained that Archie died of natural causes (something we already knew, the ignorant thought otherwise).”
She continued: “He died of an intracerebral hemorrhage caused by acute lymphatic lymphoma / leukemia. This is not leukemia as we know it, the word acute in medical terms means fast. He assured us there was nothing anyone could have done like Archie. showed no signs of illness. Archie had numerous bleeding in the brain and the doctor went out of his way to reassure us that he wouldn’t have been in pain like it happened in his sleep. “

Lucy said that just days before his death, Archie celebrated his birthday early with “the love of his life Nethra,” who “would leave with work commitments.” Archie had assumed his “So Awkward” co-star Nethra Tilakumara. The actress paid tribute to him several times on her own Instagram page after his death.
“Archie was the most extraordinary magical human we have ever met,” Lucy wrote in her post. We still learn every day the incredible impact he had on the lives of others, the kindness and generosity he showed them. He was an old soul and in many ways incredibly advanced for his years. As his parents, we couldn’t be prouder to be on him. for all he accomplished in the short time he got, and especially for the beautiful person he was. “
She continued, “We are so grateful and privileged to have been chosen to be his parents. The journey and adventure was the best anyone could have ever wished for. A truly magical time in every way.”
In a second Instagram post shared that day, Lucy wrote, “Nick and I try to make Archie proud every day, but they are baby steps, sometimes more than difficult and difficult. The world is a very different place without him. One of my last conversations with him was about everything that was going on in the world, the chaos, anger about all the different topics. He looked at me with his huge blue soulful eyes, shook his head and said, ‘Everything the world needs has is love, mama, it’s so easy to love. “And for him it was. He gave it abundantly everywhere he went.”
Lucy also said her son was an ’empath’ who ‘loved life, appreciated everyone in it and every moment given to him’.
“He was always singing and had so much energy and passion in everything he did,” she wrote. “To be a part of his life was the greatest joy, crazy honor. We miss him every day and always will. There are not enough words to describe him, he was a one-off and more than unique. Our sweet boy , we love you forever and ever and thank you every day for every beautiful memory we have. We will always celebrate you. All our love. Mommy and OM “
