‘SNL’ host Nick Jonas assures brother they’re still a band, then debuts his own ‘Spaceman’

Singer Nick Jonas doubled as “Saturday Night Live’s” host and musical guest – assuring his nervous brother Kevin that, yes, they’re still a band.

“I’m honestly so excited to be here and support you,” said Kevin, who sat in the audience during his brother’s monologue. And I also have to ask: are we good? Because I see you doing a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band? “

“Of course,” replied Nick before later performing two singles from his solo album: “Spaceman” and “This Is Heaven.”

“Are you sure? Because I just bought a house,” Kevin asked again.

Thanks to Nick, the band broke up in 2013. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas finally got back together in 2019 and soon released their fifth album, “Happiness Begins”. Nick’s solo album, “Spaceman”, will be out on March 12th.

Jonas was the musical guest on the program four times (sometimes with his brothers). This was his first time as a host.

Jonas added music to the monologue, causing Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong and Beck Bennett to sing ‘Drink With Me’, a twist on the nostalgic song of camaraderie from ‘Le Miserables’. Jonas starred as Marius in the “Les Mis” concert cast in London in 2011 for the play’s 25th anniversary.
