Slow-moving blizzard hits the Midwest while the Mid-Atlantic Ocean braces the Northeast

A slow-moving winter storm sweeps through the Midwest before emerging along the Mid-Atlantic Ocean to New England, bringing 12 inches of snow in some parts of the country.

The storm started in California and brought rare snow to some parts of the state before moving across the central plains. The system gained momentum as it moved across the country, eventually dropping snow over Chicago and the Ohio Valley.
