San Luis Obispo County added 94 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 17,605 confirmed cases on Jan. 29.
It’s the second day this week that the daily case total has dropped below 100. 96 new cases were reported on Monday.
Health officials say 46 people are currently hospitalized. Another 1,949 people are recovering at home, and health officials say 15,411 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 19 of the county’s 38 accredited and staffed ICU beds are currently occupied. Fourteen of these have been taken by COVID-19 patients.
The county also added four new COVID-19-related deaths on Friday. A total of 168 deaths in SLO County have been attributed to the virus to date.

The location of 61 additional cases is under investigation, and a further nine are listed as “other”, including communities with fewer than five cases. The Health Department does not identify those locations.
Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
