San Luis Obispo County added 315 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 15,929 confirmed cases on Jan. 19.
Health officials say 53 people have been hospitalized. Another 2,443 people are recovering at home and health officials say 12,923 people have recovered.
San Luis Obispo County reports that 15 of the county’s 38 accredited and staffed ICU beds are currently occupied. Seven of these have been taken by COVID-19 patients.
The province also added an additional mortality rate, bringing the total to 136 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The location of 85 additional cases is under investigation, and a further nine are listed as “other”, including communities with fewer than five cases. The Health Department does not identify those locations.
Community COVID-19 test sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
